Paw Prints of Hope Gallery Exhibit - September 11 - October 13 PAWS once again joins with the Art Association of Harrisburg to display our unique paintings made by PAWS foster animals.  This exhibit is part of the AAH Fall Membership Exhibition, "Animal Kingdom".

Previous Exhibits and background info- In the spring of 2004, PAWS volunteer Kathy Smith spearheaded a new fundraising project for PAWS' planned facility. Under Kathy's supervision, PAWS foster animals create works of art using their paws (or tails) and nontoxic paint. The paintings debuted at Art for Animals 2004, with 10 paintings bringing in nearly $800 in a silent auction.

Next, the Art Association of Harrisburg displayed Paw Prints of Hope pieces during its Art School Annual Exhibition on Saturday. Over 25 pieces were featured and will be available for sale through July 22. Guests packed the Gallery as representatives announced the student awards, including one for 'Best of Show by a non-human artist' awarded to foster cat artist Mitch who was unable to attend.

PAWS wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Art Association of Harrisburg; Carrie Wissler-Thomas, AAH President; Terri Tedeschi Hosey, AAH Curator and ABC Channel 27.

Stop by the Art Association of Harrisburg to view the Paw Prints of Hope Project through July 22 and help us thank AAH for their generous support. Check out their website for upcoming events at AAH, including their summer semester classes, Signature Soirees and Faculty Exhibition.

Sabrina is by far one of the more talented painters we've come across. Sabrina is an adult cat, about eight years old who came into foster care when her owner died. She's a very loving cat, who made the definition of "lap cat". She also LOVES to eat, even though she has few teeth left her favorite snacks are chips and cake and ice cream! She favors the method of painting with her tail. She also gravitates towards bright colors and definitely paints with flair!

Millie is so appreciative for a chance to paint that all she wants to do is express her love for you while painting. She's a younger adult who is a sweet girl. Millie is a developing artist but has a deep appreciation for Van Gogh and to demonstrate that she loves painting with her ear!

Louisa's painting style is all about her paws. She stomps on the canvas and does very little "brush work". Louisa is about one year old. She is a very outgoing kitty, who still has plenty of kitten in her.
