Steelton Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Project
PAWS is assisting Steelton residents in implementing their Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project by providing and paying for the spaying and neutering of the cats via Keystone Veterinary Mobile and Animal Birth Control (ABC). PAWS has invested over $6,000 in veterinary services and supplies to support this worthy program in Steelton.
PAWS also provides rabies and vaccines, parasite treatments, ear tipping, antibiotic injection; and minor first aid.
Over 25 cats and kittens have been placed into foster care with both the PAWS and Castaway Critters Foster and Adoption programs.
Approximately 130 cats have been spayed or neutered so far through the program. There are many ways to help this program continue its success - and you in fact, can start such a program in your own community! In order for these types of programs, community involvement and support is imperative. Ways to help include making a donation so PAWS can continue funding this important project, volunteer to foster cats who can be put up for adoption, adopt a cat or kitten or two, hold a fundraiser on your own or volunteer with PAWS.
