adopt

PAWS animals awaiting adoption are cared for in local foster homes where they receive
individual attention in a family environment. We get to know each pet's special qualities
and personality.

Our foster parents and adoption coordinators work as a team to match owners with the cat,
dog, kitten or puppy that best suits their lifestyle.

Selected cats and kittens ready for adoption may be seen throughout the week at our
adoption centers and dogs and puppies are shown on weekends at various locations.

Visit PAWS on petfinder.com for a comprehensive list of all animals available.

Don't forget our seniors. PAWS often rescues older dogs who need loving homes. These special animals end up with PAWS for a variety of reasons, typically through no fault of their own ... they've been rescued from a puppy mill, or maybe the owner moved or no longer has time for a dog.

In fact, there are many BENEFITS to adding a senior to your household:
* They're usually housebroken and have some level of training or knowledge of commands.
* They generally require less exercise than puppies and younger dogs.
* They have been socialized and in many cases are good with children or other pets.
* They're already full grown with a known temperment - what you see is what you get.
* They appreciate attention and readily bond with new owners.
* Senior dogs make great companions for senior people!

Sadly, many senior dogs are passed over in favor of puppies and younger dogs and are desperate for a new home. If you can help a senior dog live a full and happy life in his mature years, please adopt.

With good nutrition, preventative health maintenance, a bit of exercise and a lot of love, you can give a senior dog the best years of his life.
